Meet Us

We’ll admit it - we are obsessed with food. From what we had for dinner last night to what we are going to cook tonight; quality boutique produce, recipes and eating are always top of mind.

This passion, and a desire to help promote and support Orange’s artisan producers, lead to the establishment of A Slice of Orange in 2009. Since then, Lisa’s background in advertising and Jess’ retail management expertise has proved to be a successful combination. From very humble beginnings at the Leichhardt Organic Farmers Markets, the shop has grown from strength to strength and we are now delighted to bring amazing Orange produce to customers, Australia-wide, via our online store.

Supporting locally grown, seasonal, handmade produce continues to motivate and excite us as does learning about the methods employed to grow and make our delicious products. We hope you enjoy reading about our incredible suppliers on this site as well as cooking with their goodies using our recipes.

The '100 Mile Diet' philosophy and A Slice of Orange

In order to ensure the products we stock are as local as possible, we adopted the 100 Mile Diet philosophy for our store, as referenced in the above map. By strictly adhering to this principle, we are assured that all the food we bring to you is truly local to the Orange region. We are fortunate then, that within the area there is an incredible food bowl filled with producers passionate about their craft so we can bring you everything from truffles to saffron, venison, cherries, figs, cheeses and locally roasted coffee, to name just a few.

We hope you enjoy browsing our online store. If it whets your appetite, don’t forget to try and visit our Orange outlet for even more fresh, locally grown and handmade delights.

Our Store in Orange

A Slice of Orange stocks the largest range of boutique and seasonal produce from the Orange region in one beautiful shop. Our goodies include seasonal fruit, vegetables and berries, Millthorpe Truffles (in winter), artisan cheeses, handmade pies and gourmet small goods. We also stock an array of fresh salads and dips, salt bush lamb, freshly baked bread, venison and free range organic chicken. In store you will also find Racine Kitchen sweet treats served alongside Bills Beans coffee and teas.

We would love you to pop in when you get a chance but if you desire a taste when you are a little further away, all of our shelf products can be purchased via our online store. Unfortunately we are unable to ship fresh items due to cold refrigeration requirements but we’re sure you will find plenty to tantalise your taste buds here. Enjoy!
