It is with a desire to really inform our customers about what they are eating that Lisa brings you these intimate profiles of our suppliers. Fourjay Farm Hazelnuts, Forest Reefs
Jean and Basil Baldwin are the lovely owners of Fourjay Farms Hazelnuts together with their daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dave Stansfield. Fourjay Farms is a brand that we have been proud to stock since when we were first selling at the Sydney Organic Farmers Markets. The Baldwins started planting their hazelnut grove just outside of Orange in 1990. They now have over 5,000 trees (10 hectares) under their care, more than ten products in their range and a number of covetable awards under their belts.
Murrungundy Pistachios, Elong Elong
A chance meeting approximately 30 years ago resulted in a considerable change in direction for Richard Barton and his Murrungundy property just north of Wellington. Richard, traditionally a crop and cattle farmer, met some men who had come to the region with the purpose of growing pistachios given the prefect soil and climate in the area for the trees. They never followed through with the idea and Richard decided to diversify and give this new crop a try
