About Orange

The cosmopolitan country town of Orange, in NSW’s Central West, is a veritable food bowl brimming with fresh primary produce, home-style providores, organic suppliers, boutique wines, gourmet foodie outlets and hatted restaurants.
Nestled into a fertile valley at the base of snow-peaked Mount Canobolas, the region boasts a uniquely cool climate and many elevated cropping areas well-suited to growing fruit, vegetables and grape vines (read wine- yum). It’s perhaps due to this special confluence of weather patterns and growing conditions that Orange has become one of the State’s premier foodie destinations over the past decade.
Just 3.5 hours’ drive from Sydney, discerning metropolitan consumers can make their way over the Blue Mountains to feast on Orange’s local produce, dine at one of its hatted restaurants, stock up on local wine or soak up the country calm by a fire in one of the city’s boutique B&Bs and, of course, don’t forget to drop into A Slice of Orange to indulge in a fresh coffee, enjoy a locally-baked snack and pick up a custom picnic hamper before hitting the sites.
